WELCOME TO THE UNITED BENEFICE OF NEWBANK & THROPPING SECUNDUS!
Although a small, rural community of 1300 souls, the parishes of All Souls and Saint Ambrose are a living witness to the Christian faith in this damp and often watery part of the Diocese of Wenchoster. Located on the west bank of the River Wen both churches extend a warm welcome to enquirers and passers-by. All Souls is able to offer private commode facilities, whilst Saint Ambrose now boasts a PA system rivalled only by those used by larger heavy metal bands. (Only used to its full potential on the last Sunday in August at the annual "Rock goes Rosary and Benediction" service.)(Sarum Rite.) When you visit our churches (always open during daylight hours and often later by arrangement for private rendevous) please say a prayer for the Benefice and Rector, the people and the repose of the souls of the original village of Thropping. |
